Holliston, MA (May 2026). Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric), a leading electrical contractor throughout New England and the Southeast for nearly five decades, is steadily progressing on the construction of a 16,266-sf, state-of-the-art fire station in the heart of Atlanta, GA. This two-story building is projected to open its doors in the summer of 2026, providing life-saving emergency services for over half a million residents as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to modernize several older fire stations.

This new fire station will be over twice the size of its predecessor and feature numerous notable upgrades such as a three-truck apparatus bay, a 4,000-sf second floor, and a firefighter slide to ensure the fastest possible response times for emergencies. Other amenities include ten revamped sleeping quarters, office space, a kitchen and lounge, as well as separate rooms for gear storage and training.

Griffin Electric is responsible for the installation of general power and lighting throughout the entire building, as well as a distribution system, fire alarms, and a lightning protection system. The Georgia Griffin team is also handling all telecommunication work on site, including the installation of a robust security raceway.

Based in Atlanta, FH Paschen is serving as the project’s general contractor. Hammond & Associates Inc of Norcross, GA and Harris & Smith, LLC of Atlanta are serving as the project’s electrical engineer and architect, respectively.
